As I embarked on an attempt to declutter as part of my New Year’s Resolution, I did renew any of my magazine subscriptions and vowed instead of buying books.
Because of this, I decided to get reacquainted my our local public library and went in search of my library card, which I failed to find and obtained a replacement card. I like this one as in addition to the card, I also get a keyfob card and a bookmark.
In addition, I found the library is adapting with the times and has many new services, such as an app called Flipster where you can access many magazines online and Hoopla for access to some free music, audiobooks, and movies by entering your library card.
Although in the past they had a lot of activities for children, they are expanding to have crafting and learning activities for adults as well and there is a Makers Lab where to learn how to use a 3D printer. I signed up for a free an Umbrella Painting class this week and looking forward to getting reacquainted with the new, modern version of our city’s library.
