Unfortunately, we were still in Meijer’s parking lot at the stroke of midnight but ventured downtown and by the time we got there around 12:20pm the festivities were over and everyone was on their way to their cars.
At midnight, Marv was fulfilling his self-appointed “Cart Master” duties of taking stray carts back inside before hitting up the restroom before we left and I was waiting in the van and browsing the most recent issue of “Food Network” magazine that I had gotten in the mail Earlier, around 8:30 pm we had a nice dinner at Cheddars, so that was our big excitement for the evening.
This is the first year Fort Wayne had a celebration of this type and the festivities began at 7pm and the Itinerary indicated they had “Feel Good” stories of the year, a food contest, and a dance contest and live entertainment with a virtual ball dropping at midnight. Marv guessed it was probably a laser light show, but we will have to check the news tomorrow to be sure.
Location 215 East Berry Street, Fort Wayne, IN, behind Main Street Bistro in Barrett and McNagny parking lot.
