We went out to eat at TGI Friday, now known a just “Friday’s” as I had a coupon for “Buy One Entree + 2 drinks – Get One Free” coupon” and was surprised at the new look inside the restaurant. Before it was much more closed off with lots of shelves and lots of tchotchkes; you couldn’t look on the wall without seeing a square inch covered with an item. It sort of looked like a grown man’s version of a nostalgic frat house mixed with his childhood favorites like a memory box on acid.
The new look is open and minimal, more sophisticated look with an overall much more “grown up” look. Perhaps it is a chain trying to grow up with those that grew up loving it, which would be more in the 35-45 range instead of trying to target the bar crowd of 21-25, which is a smart move as the latter probably has more disposable income with less drama and problem than the drinking age crowd it used to seem to target. Before, unless I had a coupon or gift certificate it is not a place that I would invite guests, but with the remodel
Before, unless I had a coupon or gift certificate it is not a place that I would invite guests, but with the remodel, it is a place I would feel proud to ask as it looks much more upscale.

Of course, since I passed the camera to Marv to take a picture, he ending up taking a selfie. He has done this since I have known him, even back in the day when you paid per print for a photo to be developed.
